I am a total wimp, I can’t watch horror films, and some Halloween costumes scare the living daylights out of me, but I love Vampires.

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had a fascination with them and as I’ve grown up I’ve come to realise what that is – I find them sexually attractive. And I’m not the only one! How many vampire films, TV shows and books can you think of Exactly.

I have actually written a whole series of Sexy Vampire stories, The Point Vamp series, because I find them so very compelling. Why is that though? I don’t think it’s all about the fangs but I think part of the attraction is in the neck biting. He’s the ultimate bad boy, if you get sexy with a vamp likelihood is the night is not going to end well for you but oh, it’ll be a wild ride before you get to the blood draining death part of the proceedings.

What is it about the supernatural?

It’s not just vampires that hold this power over us. Werewolves and other animal shifters are big business in the Erotic fiction genre and there is even room for ghosts, monsters and zombies to have their own stories, novels and anthologies too. Would you like to hear my theory of why these characters are so very attractive to us? Well, it all boils down to rules.

From day one we have expectations thrust upon us. We have to follow both written and unwritten rules that influence all areas of our lives including anything sexual. Society dictates to us how relationships work, when it’s okay to have sex. It preaches monogamy and shoos us away from anything kinky, dark or risky.

Paranormal and magical characters don’t have to stick to these rules. They simply indulge their primal lusts for blood and brains or give in to pure, animalistic needs. They fuck who they want, when they want and how they want because the rules don’t apply to them. We all wish that was the case for us too. That’s why we love these scary, dark characters. We get to break the rules for a while.

And it’s always good to be wanted, isn’t it? You could be the person the vampire actually falls in love with, you might not just be a refreshing drink and for a moment in time you are all that hot, sexy monster has in mind. That’s a powerful aphrodisiac.

How can we get a bit of this fantasy into real life?

Well, Halloween is a perfect opportunity to dress up and indulge in some sexy role play. Calling it role play makes it seem quite grand— something akin to acting—but it’s just playing pretend. That is something we all did as children but many of us have lost the knack of in adulthood.

Putting on a costume is freeing because you become someone else for a little while. So enjoy the costume parties, the trick or treating but then when you get back home why not leave the costumes on for a while.

You can tap into those animalistic urges. Yes, you could keep the werewolf paws on as you undress, why not? You might not have real fangs but why not bite and nibble like a vampire searching out the juicy veins to drain?

There’s a particularly good one at the top of the inner thigh you know. Bewitch your partner with a love spell and make them do everything you ask of them or tie down your innocent victim and use them as you will.

You don’t need to keep the paranormal play to just Halloween, indulge in whenever you feel like it. It is good to leave the expectations and heaviness of life behind and just concentrate on sex and satisfaction for a while. You don’t have to dress up in a full costume every time you want to indulge in something a little otherworldly.

Who needs claws when you can have vampire gloves, wartenberg wheels, spikey paddles and all things sharp and scratchy? Tame your wild animal with a whip, your horse with a crop and put a lead on your pet.

You can have all kinds of fun with a broomstick you know. Letting out the inner vampire is as simple as digging teeth into flesh and your own nails can scratch and mark so you don’t always need specialist equipment to take a walk on the dark side.

You can’t ignore the fact that the attraction of these characters is tied up intrinsically with how much they scare us. It gets the adrenaline pumping and that kind of heart thumping excitement can be very sexy indeed.

So forget the rules and get scarily sexy this Halloween and beyond.
