This year is going to mark our third time at Eroticon and we couldn’t be more excited. Eroticon 2017 is going to be the biggest and best Eroticon yet, and this time it is in Camden, London.

Previously, Eroticon has been held in Bristol at Armada House. For anyone who doesn’t know, it is a fantastic venue right in the heart of the city just off the docks. Because they have been able to get the whole building for Eroticon it has always felt very intimate and personal. But moving to Camden makes so much sense, right in the heart of London this is going to be a fantastic venue as well.

It all starts on Friday night

Eroticon kicks off on the Friday night with a meet and greet. It can be very tempting to skip this and go straight into it on Saturday morning. I would say don’t do that. You will miss a hell of a lot if you do that.

With Eroticon 2017 set to be the biggest yet I think missing the Friday night will be a big mistake. It is your chance to say hi to all the people you have talked to online but never had the chance to meet in person.

Everyone is so friendly, you will make friends you can then chat to throughout the weekend. Eroticon becomes a lot more fun when you share your workshop experiences with new friends.

For us it is a great chance to catch up with all the writers we talk to and work with throughout the year but never have the chance to see face to face. This year we are especially looking forward to catching up with some of the other podcasters who are also doing some great work.

Starting Eroticon 2017 bright and early on Saturday

Make sure you don’t have too much fun on the Friday night and get plenty of sleep because Eroticon 2017 is going to have you working hard right from the start.

You come to a conference like this not to get drunk and miss the whole thing. You come to it to be inspired, to learn new skills and interact with some of the best bloggers, writers, and reviewers. If you miss the start you are missing out on the most important part. The opening of the event sets the tone for the whole weekend.

This year the event is being run by Molly Moore, Girl on the Net, and DomSigns. If you haven’t heard it make sure you check out our interviews with all three of them from last years Eroticon. We are really excited to see them take over the event, they all do so much for the community and their sessions at previous events have always delight and inform.

With them now in charge it is going to be exciting to see what they do with the event. If you have never had the chance to talk to them in person they are always worth talking to. Although getting any time of them this year is going to be hard. Make sure you have a drink to offer them and I am sure you will get their attention for at least 5 minutes.

Work work work... in a good way

Eroticon 2017 is packed with some brilliant sessions. There is us of course, running a number of sessions where you will be able to make your own sexy toys. It provides a brilliant respite for refocusing your mind after the intensity of all the information you gain in others sessions. It does mean we don’t get to see all the other sessions.. but we can’t have our cake and eat it too.

But here are some of the other sessions you must check out:

• Pitching 101 - Girl on the Net: I can speak from experience that Girl on the Net pitches like no one else. If you take in half of what she has to say you will be winning jobs left, right, and centre.
• Free speech and the written word - Myles Jackman: Myles is an obscenity lawyer and writes about matters of obscenity law and free speech. His talk is bound to be fascinating and horrifying at the same time.
• Hands on rope workshop - DJFet: Every year I see DJFet do her demonstrations and every year is something to be seen. If you can find it her talk on "The psychology of rope" is worth going along to.
• Adult Industry for People of Colour - JetSet Jasmine & King Noire: This is bound to be a compelling dive into how they have been treated by the adult industry, where it's problems lay, and what can be done about it.
• How to sustain a strong and healthy blog: Anyone with a blog will tell you getting started is easy, keeping it going is hard. But it doesn't have to be.
• How to use your blog to educate: Emmeline Peaches, Formidable Femme, Hot Octopus - A deep discussion from some of the most prominent people talking in the industry at the moment. Strong and opinionated.. yes, knowledgeable and intelligent.. double yes.
• Conflict Resolution in the "Call Out" Era: Ruby goodnight - Social media is the battle ground of adult toy companies. Some get it, others definitely don't. Learn from the mistakes of others as Ruby goes through the do's and don'ts.

Saturday night is party night

This year the Saturday is going to be more structured than previously with a show on the Saturday night. It is going to be a lot of fun to relax and enjoy. But you can do what you like, if you are pooped from a long day of learning and being inspired then you do what works best for you to relax.

There are no rules when it comes to what to do outside the event, but I am sure you will want to keep talking to these passionate people.

If you don’t already have your tickets to Eroticon 2017 then make sure you book them now before they are all gone. It is an event like no other and you will kick yourself if you don’t make it.
